MALLY SKOK
As an avid traveler who is always on the look out for the old and unusual, Mally was inspired to start her own fabric and wallpaper line after a trip to India. Under the guidence of friend and mentor Peter Fasano, Mally launched Mally Skok Design in 2008. Today the Boston based firm consists of a collection of 97 fabrics and 40 wallpapers. Despite the growing output, South African designer retains her own unique creative process. She starts each pattern off as a hand rendered sketch, to which watercolor is meticulously applied in various color schemes. This labor intensive method creates designs that are intricate and highly original, with beautifully subtle variations only possible through the hand-made technique. Mally Skok fabrics and wallpapers are often whimisical yet easy on the eye, making them versatile choices if you are looking to add an artistic touch to your home.
